Carl H. Altrock

Carl H. Altrock, 84, of 406 N. Robert St. died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at his home after a lingering illness.

He was born Aug. 19, 1904 in Manistee and was married Oct. 4, 1928 in Manistee to Ethel Green and she survives. He came to Ludington in 1927 and was a member of the United Methodist Church, Ludington Aerie, 1354, F.O.E. and the Dow A.C. Club.

He was employed as a mechanic for Howard Bottrell in Manistee and after moving to Ludington, he operated his own repair shop at Kann's Garage and Carl's Super Service. He also worked at Dow Chemical Company for 20 years, retiring in 1969.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Dona) Newberg of Homestead, Fla. and Mrs. James (Karla) Seymour of Luthersville, Ga.; five grandchildren, Carl and Craig Newberg, both of Homestead, Fla., Lisa Roeberge of Princeton, Fla., Terri Smith of Newnan, Ga. and Debbie Haynes of Grantville, Ga.; six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral for Mr. Altrock will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Alexander-Rye Funeral Home with the Rev. William Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Bachelor Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. An Eagles memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
